Multipurpose Building for Orphans

Located in Battambang, Cambodia, this multi-purpose building supports the basic needs and
education of orphans at the Peaceful Children's Home in Battambang and Phnom Penh operated
by the Khmer Foundation. The beautiful two-story structure provides children with a classroom
on the first level and affordable accommodations on the second level for volunteers, humanitarian
groups and for tourists alike. The revenue generated from the hotel not only provide for the
basic needs of the children, but offers tuition for deserving high school graduates to continue
their post-secondary education.

Why is education so important

The orphans who live at the Peaceful Children's Home face a stark reality without the support
and care of the Khmer Foundation. Extreme poverty, abuse, abandonment, and child trafficking
are just a few of these realities. Cambodia is also rising from the ashes of decades of warfare
and abuse under the thumb of the Khmer Rouge. With the economy still fragile and exploitations
rising, education is essential for the development of the nation.
